Kneeling Position:
Step One: Get the body directly in line with the flight of the ball, one leg bent. Kneeling reduces the margin of error by eliminating the gap between the legs.
Step Two: Hands are extended forward at ground level. Palms are facing upward waiting to channel the ball safely into the chest.
Step Three: If the ball is played to the right, then lead with the right foot. If the ball is played to left, then lead with the left foot.
Straight Legged:
Step One: Get the body directly in line with the flight of the ball. Feet should be narrower than shoulder width apart.
Step Two: Bend forward at the waist and extend arms towards the ball. Palms are facing upward underneath the ball. Keep elbows tucked in and forearms parallel to avoid the ball slipping through.
Step Three: Once the ball rolls up into the forearms it is cradled and tucked safely into the chest.
