The 4 Man Wall
Prior to the game, assign each player a specific role to play when defending against free kicks. The following
is a sample of the organizational set up for a 4 Man Wall.
Players Responsibilities:

1. Position outside near post.

2. Join wall as 2nd man.

3. Join wall as 3rd man.

4. Join wall as 4th man.

5. Be alert for short pass played down the line.

6. Position 1 yard behind the wall and inside far post.

7. Close down short pass made inside.
-
8. Mark area on 6-yard box.

9. Mark area on 6-yard box.
- 10. Mark area inline with penalty spot.
