Coaching Points:
This practice is designed to improve the goalkeepers general fitness level while incorporating their shot stopping techniques. Two regulation goals are placed opposite each other approximately 20 yards apart. One goalkeeper is positioned in each goal.
In a one-on-one competition the goalkeepers alternate attempting to score. The goalkeepers can shoot at their opponent’s goal by either kicking from the ground, punting, half volleys or by hand distribution. The first goalkeeper
to concede five goals loses. Work must be rapid while maintaining quality technique.
